Project Description
In January 2024, the DRPA Board approved a multi-year contract with TransCore L.P. to design, build and maintain its next generation tolling system utilizing the most advanced and up-to-date technology available in the tolling industry.
The primary objective of the project is to replace the existing tolling system which is nearly 25 years old and relies on technology that is obsolete and that has led to significant customer service back-office system inefficiencies.
By design, the new tolling system will improve financial, operational, and toll collection business systems with state-of-the-art technology and equipment and by incorporating industry standard best practices.
Once implemented, the new tolling system will produce operational efficiencies, improvements in revenue controls and performance, enhanced system accountability, and more accuracy in reporting traffic, revenue, and servicing customer accounts. In addition, the new technology will result in greater employee efficiency, improved customer service, safety enhancements, reduced travel time and congestion.
