DRPA Recognized as a 2024 Gallagher Best-in-Class Employer
The Delaware River Port Authority (DRPA) is proud to announce that it has been recognized with Gallagher’s Best-in-Class Award for 2024. This distinction is awarded to organizations that excel in implementing effective strategies for managing people, benefits, and HR programs, highlighting DRPA’s commitment to fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes employee well-being.
“I am incredibly proud to share that DRPA has been recognized with Gallagher’s Best-in-Class Award for 2024. The award recognizes our commitment to employee well-being,” said John T. Hanson, DRPA CEO and PATCO President. “This achievement is a testament to the culture we have built together—one that values and prioritizes the health, fulfillment, and success of every employee. While this award is a great honor, it is also a reminder that our work in supporting you—our greatest asset—is never done.”
DRPA earned this recognition based on the results of Gallagher’s 2024 U.S. Benefits Strategy & Benchmarking Survey, which evaluates the HR and benefits practices of midsize (100-999 FTEs) and large (1,000+ FTEs) employers across various industries. The selection process identifies organizations that strategically invest in benefits, compensation, and the overall employee experience to support their workforce while maintaining sustainable cost structures.
“This recognition reflects our dedication to building a workplace where our employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive—both professionally and personally. Through our policies and initiatives, we have demonstrated a strategic and thoughtful commitment to creating meaningful programs that support our employees and their families,” said Toni P. Brown, DRPA CAO. “We remain committed to exploring meaningful ways to foster a supportive environment and ensure that DRPA/PATCO continue to be a place where everyone thrives.”
Gallagher, a global insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting firm, surveys thousands of companies nationwide each year and creates this list to recognize excellence in implementing effective strategies for managing people, benefits, and HR programs.
In the 2024 survey, 1,283 midsize employers participated, and only the top quartile were named Best-in-Class. DRPA is honored to be among the 344 organizations that achieved this distinction.
This recognition underscores DRPA’s ongoing efforts to create a workplace culture that enhances the health, financial confidence, and career growth of its employees.
