PATCO Riders, DRPA Employees Join Forces To Help Those In Need

"Caring is Sharing" campaign will benefit organizations who are helping others

Stewardship. Service. Community.

It's not just a motto for employees at the Delaware River Port Authority. It is a call to action.

As part of its commitment to service, the "Caring is Sharing" campaign was recently launched. The purpose of the campaign is to provide support to non-profit organizations in the region that are making a difference in the lives of others.

The goal of the campaign is to collect 2,024 items throughout 2024.

The campaign is a collaborative effort between the Community Relations and Customer Service Departments and it consists of three initiatives.

The first initiative, called "Spring Forward," ran during the month of March. Throughout the month of March, donation barrels were placed at all DRPA facilities, including at its Camden headquarters, as well as at several PATCO train stations.

Approximately 1,700 items were graciously donated during the March initiative. The donations will be distributed to the Salvation Army to benefit two of their shelters -- the Eliza Shirley House and Temple Corps Center -- and to Cradles to Crayons, an organization that distributes clothing to those in need across our region.

The final two initiatives will be conducted internally during the year and they will benefit deployed military personnel and a school supply drive.
