Rowan University Students Gain Insight into Police Work
Students at Rowan University had the opportunity to interact with Delaware River Port Authority officers to learn first-hand the duties and responsibilities of law enforcement.
Approximately three dozen students in the University’s Law/Justice Department interacted with DRPA Lt. Michael Voll and Sgt. Jose Espino.
With an invite from Dr. Jeffrey Schwartz, a professor at Rowan, Lt. Voll and Sgt. Espino gave a presentation to the students about what it means to be a DRPA police officer. In addition, the students also learned about the department, its jurisdiction and how to become a DRPA police officer and its benefits.
At the conclusion of the presentation, the students were able to ask Lt. Voll and Sgt. Espino questions about the department.
Several students indicated their interest in a future career with the DRPA Police Department. The students were provided with brochures that included the QR code for joining the contact list and information on how to be made aware of police officer opportunities.
