DRPA Hosts First Annual Legislative Day

Local leaders join DRPA for an inside look at current projects, priorities, and community initiatives

The Delaware River Port Authority hosted its inaugural "DRPA Legislative Day" on November 14.

More than two dozen elected officials from New Jersey and Philadelphia joined us to meet our leadership team and learn about current initiatives, including our major capital projects across the region.

Chief Engineer Mike Venuto and his team led a ride-along presentation, providing participants with a guided narrative as they traveled in two vans to view key DRPA assets. Highlights included a stop at Franklin Square, the new PATCO train station, and the future site of the Ben Franklin Bridge pier protection project.

CEO John Hanson and Board Vice Chairman Jeff Nash welcomed attendees and offered an overview of the Authority’s mission, goals and financial outlook.

Following the tour, guests were invited to enjoy a grab-and-go lunch or stay for a "Chat and Chew" with management, an opportunity to engage staff with thoughtful questions about DRPA's day-to-day operations.

Deputy CEO Jalila Parker was also on hand to answer questions and further the dialogue.
