Working at the AuthorityEmployment Process
DRPA and PATCO currently employ approximately 900 employees in various positions. Many of our positions are represented by various labor unions. We offer several methods for obtaining employment information. When vacancies become available for external candidates, we post vacant positions on our website at www.drpa.org, under the heading “Employment Opportunities.” Potential applicants can also sign up for our email subscription service at http://www.drpa.org/special/email_notification.html to have job openings emailed directly to them. Applicants can also e-mail us at Recruiting@drpa.org with any questions. If you contact us through Recruiting@drpa.org, you must include your email address in the body of the email.
For those applicants who do not have access to a computer, we encourage them to contact the Authority’s Human Resources Services Department by telephone at (215) 218-3750, extension 2223. Applications are only available and accepted for positions that are currently vacant and posted. However, to be considered for any vacancy you must complete in full a DRPA application which includes an Applicant Statement form.
All postings fully explain the job responsibilities and minimum requirements to be considered for the position. Many of our jobs have a test component. Only those applicants who pass the test are permitted to move to the next stage of the application process which includes an interview with a panel. All prospective employees can expect a mandatory criminal history background check, employment and education verification, and post-offer physical, which include drug and alcohol screenings.
All applicants are required to sign an "Applicant Statement" certifying that they are not related to any current Commissioner, Officer or employee of DRPA or PATCO as defined on the “Attestation Applicant Statement” which is attached to the employment application.
Commitment to Diversity
The Authority is firmly committed to employing a diverse workforce that fairly reflects the rich diversity of our region. We do not discriminate against any applicants on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, non-job-related disability, veteran status, genetic identification or any other protected group status. As a bi-state entity, we are committed to employing residents of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
At the Authority, we believe our greatest assets are our employees. That is why we work hard to provide the tools and resources necessary for continued growth and development of our staff.
