Maintenance Technician (Operations Division)
Union Rate ~ $30.67 ~ $30.92 Hourly
We are a busy, quasi-public agency in the Delaware Valley with a career opportunity for an experienced individual wishing to join our dedicated team of professionals.
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician. Under the direction and supervision of the Construction & Maintenance supervisory personnel, this individual will perform a wide variety of skilled, semi-skilled and manual work required to accomplish construction and maintenance activities on any and all structures, roadways, grounds, equipment, etc., at any DRPA facility. This individual will also assist in the maintenance of roadway wearing surfaces; bridges, ramps and throughways. Maintain and improve the buildings, sub-buildings and toll lanes. Maintain the bridge superstructures and substructures. Perform functions requiring welding, steel fabrication, masonry, carpentry & rigging to repair or improve a condition. Journeyman status desired. Applicant must be able to climb heights in excess of 400 feet throughout any bridge structure to access areas for repairs or improvements. A valid Class A or B CDL license with tanker endorsement must be produced prior to testing. Considerable technical knowledge and basic computer skills are required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Twelve (12) years general education or equivalent trade or vocational experience, such as construction.
- Four (4) years in a related trade.
- Pass a DRPA maintenance test.
- Class B CDL license with tanker endorsement is required. Qualified candidates holding a valid CDL permit may apply.
- Ability to pass relevant tests.
DESIRED
- Ten (10) years experience in a related trade.
Kind of work knowledge:
Reliable and diligent. Qualified for one or more construction trades. Must have knowledge of all related trades; welding, carpentry, metal fabrication, rigging, climbing and tool identification.
