MOTORIST ASSISTANCE PROGRAM (M.A.P)

The Delaware River Port Authority Motorist Assistance Program (M.A.P.) responds to disabled vehicles on DRPA bridges and ramps. DRPA police officers or operations personnel, who spot a disabled vehicle, dispatch a specially designed motorist assistance truck or the closest crew of bridge mechanics to the scene. Mechanics can make various repairs such as change flat tires if the motorist has a spare, add water/antifreeze, motor oil, washer fluid, up to three gallons of gasoline, jump-starting batteries and other necessary minor repairs. If needed, motorist assistance operators or DRPA police will help the motorist contact a towing service.

Motorist assistance operating hours vary with each bridge, but are mostly during the daytime hours. During off-hours, DRPA police and crew will respond to make sure the motorist is safe and help contact a towing service, but will not perform major repairs.
