Contract No. PATCO-60-2017 PATCO Shop DC Power Upgrades


Sealed Bids for Contract No. PATCO-60-2017, PATCO Shop DC Power Upgrades will be received during normal business hours at the office of the Chief Engineer, Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, Seventh Floor, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101, until 2 PM, eastern daylight time, Tuesday, August 23, 2017 and immediately taken to the Engineering Conference Room and publicly opened and read.

The work to be completed under this contract consists of upgrading the vehicle power distribution system in the Lindenwold Shop by separating the stinger system from the hotel power system and providing new controls and notification equipment. This work includes but is not limited to the following: on Track 0 – removal of all traction power equipment; on Tracks 1 through 3 – removal of overhead trolley power rail circuit breakers and controls, installation of new fixed hotel (auxiliary) system plugs along the tracks, gapping of the overhead trolley power rail in order to create two (2) isolated sections of overhead trolley power rail per track, replacement of stinger cables on overhead trolleys, installation of a new light curtain system integrated with the emergency stop circuits of the stinger controls, and installation of new fused disconnects and electrically-operated contactors and associated controls for the new traction power equipment.

A complete description of the work and full information for Contract Bidders is given in the Contract Documents.  Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by prospective bidders at the office of the Authority, Division of Engineering, One Port Center, Seventh Floor, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101, beginning Friday, July 14, 2017 weekdays from 8:30 AM through 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM through 4:00 PM.  A payment of $200.00 by check or money order, made payable to the Delaware River Port Authority, will be required for each set of Contract Documents. Once purchased, no refunds will be issued, even to firms submitting bids. Contract Documents cannot be ordered nor delivered by mail.

A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held starting at 10:00 AM eastern daylight time on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in the Training Trailer at the PATCO Headquarters and Shop Complex, 1000 North Carlton Street, Lindenwold, NJ 08021. All bidders shall be expected to completely and thoroughly examine all Contract Documents to become fully aware of the project scope and requirements prior to submitting a bid.

The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents directly from the Authority.  Contract Documents are not transferable to other parties for bidding purposes.  Bids received from firms whose names are not recorded by the Authority as having secured documents for this Contract will be rejected.
