CONTRACT NO. CB-25-2014 - Commodore Barry Bridge Painting Phase 1: New Jersey Approach Spans and U.S. 130 Overpass

Sealed Bids for Contract No. CB-25-2014, Commodore Barry Bridge Painting Phase 1: New Jersey Approach Spans and U.S. 130 Overpass will be received during normal business hours at the office of the Chief Engineer, Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, Seventh Floor, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101, until 2:30 p.m., local time, Tuesday, November 18, 2014 and immediately taken to the Engineering Conference Room and publicly opened and read.
The work to be completed under this contract includes removal of existing lead based paint by blast cleaning (SSPC SP10 – “Near White Blasting Cleaning”), and application of a new coating system for the CBB New Jersey approach spans (39 girder spans and 6 deck truss spans), targeted interior bottom chord members of the cantilever truss containing access hatches and the U.S. 322 over U.S. 130 Bridge. Prospective bidders shall be certified by The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) to both QP 1, “Field Application to Complex Industrial and Marine Structures” (Bridge Subcategory) and QP2, “Field Removal of Hazardous Coatings” (Category “A”). Prospective bidders are advised that full status certification for both SSPC-QP 1 and SSPC-QP 2 also apply to all subcontractors connected with the prospective bidders, that will be used for lead paint removal, containment and collection; surface preparation; and coating of structural steel.    Prospective bidders must maintain QP 1 and QP 2 certification at the time of bid and throughout the life of the project.
A complete description of the work and full information for Contract Bidders is given in the Contract Documents.  Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by prospective bidders at the office of the Authority, Division of Engineering, One Port Center, Seventh Floor, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101, beginning Tuesday, October 7, 2014, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. A payment of $200.00 by check or money order, made payable to the Delaware River Port Authority, will be required for each set of Contract Documents. Once purchased, no refunds will be issued, even to firms submitting bids. Contract Documents cannot be ordered nor delivered by mail.

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held starting at 10:00 a.m., local time on Thursday, October 23, 2014 in the 11th Floor Multi-Purpose Room of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, NJ 08101. A site visit is scheduled immediately following the Pre-Bid Meeting. All bidders shall be expected to completely and thoroughly examine all Contract Documents to become fully aware of the project scope and requirements prior to submitting a bid.
The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents directly from the Authority. Contract Documents are not transferable to other parties for bidding purposes. Bids received from firms whose names are not recorded by the Authority as having secured documents for this Contract will be rejected.
