RFQ - Design Services For Commodore Barry Bridge Painting

Due No Later Than 4:00 p.m. On Tuesday, May 31, 2011

The Delaware River Port Authority (Authority) hereby invites interested consulting firms to submit a Statement of Qualifications for conducting a Coating Condition Assessment and providing Design Services for Painting the Commodore Barry Bridge.

The Scope of Services the Authority requires shall include, but not be limited to, all design activities required to prepare bid documents for the painting of the Commodore Barry Bridge.  Design services include an assessment of the condition of the existing coatings; determination of toxic metal concentrations; containment design; coordination with state, federal and local environmental agencies; developing engineer’s cost estimate; and preparing the contract specifications and drawings.  Additionally, the work will include, but not be limited to, attending pre-bid conferences, preparing Bulletins, evaluate bidder qualifications and reviewing bids.  The firm shall exhibit professional staff knowledgeable and experienced in providing bridge painting design work.

Six (6) copies of the written Statement of Qualifications and U.S. Government Form SF330 must be received by the Authority no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2011.  The Statement of Qualifications should be addressed to Mr. Michael P. Venuto, P.E., P.L.S., Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer, Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, P.O. Box 1949, Camden, NJ  08101-1949.  The mailing envelope containing the Statement of Qualifications shall be labeled “Design Services for Commodore Barry Bridge Painting”.  The Statement of Qualifications shall describe in three (3) pages or less (US Government Form SF330 excluded from the aforementioned three page limitation), the qualifications of the firm and the key personnel’s experience providing design services in the areas mentioned above.  The qualifications must also include similar work successfully completed by the firm and the key personnel.  The Statement of Qualifications will be used by the Authority to establish a short list of consultants to receive a Request for Proposal and to ultimately engage a consultant for this project.

This public advertisement constitutes the Authority’s formal solicitation to determine the interest of qualified consulting firms in the aforementioned project.
