Contract No. BF-25-2009 - Benjamin Franklin Bridge Salt Mine Structural Rehabilitation

Due No Later Than 10:30 a.m., local time, July 29, 2009

Sealed proposals for Contract Number BF-25-2009, Benjamin Franklin Bridge Salt Mine Structural Rehabilitation, will be received during normal business hours, at the office of the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer in the headquarters building of the Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey until 10:30 a.m., local time, July 29, 2009 and immediately taken to the Engineering Conference Room and publicly opened and read.

The work to be completed under this contract consists of the rehabilitation of the Upper and Lower Mezzanine under the Philadelphia Plaza located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Work of this contract includes, but is not limited to, the rehabilitation of the plaza by: selective demolition, painting, installation of new steel repairs, rehabilitation of the existing concrete components, concrete paving, fencing and miscellaneous repairs.

Prospective bidders should understand that the participation of certified MBEs and WBEs is a matter of great interest in the evaluation of all proposals.  To that end, the DRPA has established MBE and WBE goals for this project.  MBE and WBE team members must be named, and commitment levels must be noted at the time the bid is submitted.

A complete description of the work and full information for Contract Bidders is given in the Contract Documents.  Copies of the Contract documents may be obtained by prospective bidders at the Delaware River Port Authority’s Engineering Office located on the 7th floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101- 1949, on and after July 8, 2009.

A check deposit of One-Hundred Dollars ($100.00), made payable to the Delaware River Port Authority, will be required for each set of Contract Documents.  Deposits will be refunded to anyone submitting a bid (limit of $400.00 for four sets).  Deposits will not, under any circumstances, be refunded to individuals or companies not submitting bids to the Delaware River Port Authority.  Contract documents cannot be ordered nor delivered by mail.

A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held starting at 1:30 p.m., local time on July 16, 2009 in the Multi Purpose Room located on the 11th Floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey.  All bidders are encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Meeting.  All Bidders shall be expected to completely and thoroughly examine all Contract Documents to become fully aware of the project scope and requirements prior to submitting a bid.

The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents directly from the Authority.  Contract Documents are not transferable to other parties for bidding purposes.  Bids received from firms whose names are not recorded by the Authority as having secured documents for this Contract will be rejected.
