Contract No. CB - 17- 2009 Commodore Barry Bridge Salt Storage Building

Sealed proposals for Contract No. CB-17-2009, Commodore Barry Bridge Salt Storage Building, will be received during normal business hours, at the office of the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer in the Headquarters Building of the Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey, until 11:00 a.m. local time, May 14, 2009 and immediately taken to the Engineering Conference Room and publicly opened and read.

Contractor will be required to supply all material and labor to construct a Salt Storage Building meeting the detailed specifications. The scope of the work consists of demolition of the existing salt storage building, a concrete foundation, pre-manufactured wood trusses installed on concrete perimeter walls, interior and exterior electrical work and associated site work. The Salt Storage Building will be constructed on the New Jersey side of the Commodore Barry Bridge. Bidders will be required to submit a reference list indicating construction experience on similar work. The building will be approximately 56’ by 49’.

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by prospective bidders at the office of the Authority, Division of Engineering, One Port Center, Seventh Floor, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101, beginning April 20, 2009, weekdays from 8:30 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. through 4:00 p.m. A deposit of $ 100.00 by check or money order, made payable to the Delaware River Port Authority, will be required for each set of Contract Documents. Deposits will be refunded to anyone submitting a bid. Deposits will not, under any circumstances, be refunded to individuals or companies not submitting bids to the Delaware River Port Authority. Contract Documents cannot be ordered nor delivered by mail.

Prospective proposers should understand that the participation of certified MBEs and WBEs is a matter of great interest in the evaluation of all bids and/or proposals. To that end, the DRPA has established MBE and WBE goals for this project. MBE and WBE team members must be named, and commitment levels must be noted at the time the bid is submitted.

A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held starting at 1:30 p.m., local time on April 28, 2009 in the Engineering West Conference Room located in the 7th Floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey. All bidders shall be expected to completely and thoroughly examine all Contract Documents to become fully aware of the project scope and requirements prior to submitting a bid.

The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents from the Authority. Contract Documents are not transferable to other parties for bidding purposes. Bids received from firms whose names are not recorded by the Authority as having secured documents for this Contract will be rejected.
