Advertisement for Bids - Commodore Barry Bridge Administration Building Roof Replacement Project


Sealed Proposals for Contract No. CB-16-2008, the Commodore Barry Bridge Administration Building Roof Replacement Project will be received during normal business hours at the office of the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer, Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, Seventh Floor, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101, until 11:00 a.m., local time, November 18, 2008 and immediately taken to the Engineering Conference Room and publicly opened and read.

The work to be completed under this contract consists of all work required to replace the existing EPDM membrane roof on the Administration Building including but not limited to, flashing, vapor barrier pitch pockets, and roof accessories. The work also includes injection grouting of all cracks in exterior brick façade, removal of the existing caps on brick column enclosures as needed to repair damaged flashing, repair of damaged flashing and installation of new backer rod and sealant in granite panels, resealing windows with silicone sealant, installation of new metal panels along the existing parapet wall, furnishing and installing a new sliding glass door at the main entrance and furnishing and installing a new panic bar at existing door of the generator room.

Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained by prospective bidders at the office of the Authority, Division of Engineering, One Port Center, Seventh Floor, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101, beginning October 28, 2008, weekdays between 9:00 a.m and 5:00 p.m. A deposit of $ 100.00 by check or money order, made payable to the Delaware River Port Authority, will be required for each set of Contract Documents. Deposits will be refunded to anyone submitting a bid. Deposits will not, under any circumstances, be refunded to individuals or companies not submitting bids to the Delaware River Port Authority. Contract Documents cannot be ordered nor delivered by mail.

To that end, the DRPA has established MBE and WBE goals for this project. MBE and WBE team members must be named, and commitment levels must be noted at the time the bid is submitted.

A mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting will be held starting at 1:00 p.m., local time on November 4, 2008 in the Conference Room at the Commodore Barry Bridge Administration Building, Bridgeport, New Jersey. All bidders shall be expected to completely and thoroughly examine all Contract Documents to become fully aware of the project scope and requirements prior to submitting a bid.

The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents from the Authority. Contract Documents are not transferable to other parties for bidding purposes. Bids received from firms whose names are not recorded by the Authority as having secured documents for this Contract will be rejected.
