RFQ - Walt Whitman Bridge Anchorage Dehumidification

The Delaware River Port Authority (Authority) hereby invites interested professional consulting engineering firms to submit a Statement of Qualifications for providing a design for the Walt Whitman Bridge Anchorage Dehumidification Project. The Scope of Services the Authority requires shall include designing a climate controlled enclosure with hermetically sealed access doors to control the humidity level around the exposed main cable strands and anchor bars and to also control the humidity level of the anchorage cable saddle housings. The design services include the design for the mechanical equipment to achieve the targeted relative humidity levels in order to control corrosion. The firm shall exhibit professional staff knowledgeable in suspension bridge systems, structural, and climate control systems. The consulting engineering firm will be expected to provide necessary engineering services for accomplishing all the above mentioned work in preparing a complete bid document for construction. Six (6) copies of the written Statement of Qualifications and U.S. Government Forms SF330 must be received by the Authority no later than 4:00 p.m. on February 21, 2008. The Statement of Qualifications should be addressed to Mr. William C. Brooks, P.E., Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer, Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, P.O. Box 1949, Camden, New Jersey 08101. The mailing envelope containing the Statement of Qualifications shall be labeled "WALT WHITMAN BRIDGE ANCHORAGE DEHUMIDIFICATION". The Statement of Qualifications shall describe, in five (5) pages or less, the qualifications of the firm and the key personnel on the design team and shall briefly describe similar consultation projects successfully completed in the last five years by the firm and the key personnel. The Statement of Qualifications will be used by the Authority to establish a short list of consultants to receive a Request for Proposal and to engage a consultant for this project. Prospective proposers are not expected to name their MBE and WBE team members at the time they submit the Statement of Qualifications. However, MBE and WBE team members must be named, and commitment levels must be noted at the time the technical proposal is requested.
