Contract No. PATCO-27-2007 - PATCO Rehabilitation Of Track Structure On The Collingswood Viaduct

Sealed proposals for Contract Number PATCO-27-2007, PATCO REHABILITATION OF TRACK STRUCTURE ON THE COLLINGSWOOD VIADUCT, will be received during normal business hours, at the office of the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer in the headquarters building of the Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey until 10:30 a.m., local time, January 17, 2008 and immediately taken to the Engineering Conference Room and publicly opened and read. The work to be completed under this contract consists of the rehabilitation of the track structure and drainage conditions of PATCO’s elevated Collingswood Viaduct located in Collingswood, New Jersey. The work will occur above and/or adjacent to active PATCO passenger facilities, parking facilities, private access roads and local roadways all of which must remain in operating during the construction. The control and mitigation of construction-related noise is a key element of this Contract, since there are businesses and residential facilities in close proximity to the work sites. The Work of this contract also includes, but is not limited to, the rehabilitation of the track structure by: selective demolition of the existing grout trenches beneath the rail fasteners; installation of new concrete and plinths beneath the rails; rehabilitation of the existing track components, including rail, restraining rail, emergency guard rail, and installation of new direct fixation rail fasteners; adjusting the track profile and alignment; adjusting the contact rail system components to correspond to the revised track location; grouting of voids under the existing concrete approach slabs; rehabilitation of safety railings and safety markings on the concrete deck; and cleaning of and miscellaneous improvements to the existing viaduct drainage system. A complete description of the work and full information for Contract Bidders is given in the Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract documents may be obtained by prospective bidders at the Delaware River Port Authority’s Engineering Office located on the 7th floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101- 1949, on and after December 3, 2007. A check deposit of One-Hundred Dollars ($100.00), made payable to the Delaware River Port Authority, will be required for each set of Contract Documents. Deposits will be refunded to anyone submitting a bid (limit of $400.00 for four sets). Deposits will not, under any circumstances, be refunded to individuals or companies not submitting bids to the Delaware River Port Authority. Contract documents cannot be ordered nor delivered by mail. A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held starting at 10:00 a.m., local time on December 11, 2007 in the Engineering Conference Room located on the 7th Floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey. All bidders are encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Meeting. All Bidders shall be expected to completely and thoroughly examine all Contract Documents to become fully aware of the project scope and requirements prior to submitting a bid. The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents directly from the Authority. Contract Documents are not transferable to other parties for bidding purposes.
