Contract No. BF-18-2006 - Benjamin Franklin Bridge Anchorage Door Replacement

Sealed proposals for Contract Number BF-18-2006, Benjamin Franklin Anchorage Door Replacement, will be received during normal business hours, at the office of the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer in the headquarters building of the Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey until 10:30 a.m., local time, October 10, 2007 and immediately taken to the Engineering Conference Room and publicly opened and read. The work to be completed under this Contract consists of the removal and replacement of the existing doors at the PATCO track level, footwalk level and grade level at both the Camden and Philadelphia Anchorages, one set of existing double doors at the 6th Street Monument at the base of the Benjamin Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia and two existing man doors at the 4th Street garage in Philadelphia. The addition of security swing gates at the Camden and Philadelphia Anchorages. This work shall include related structural/building elements as well as all related accessories. Prospective bidders should understand that the participation of certified MBEs and WBEs is a matter of great interest in the evaluation of all bids. To that end, the DRPA has established MBE and WBE goals for this project. MBE and WBE team members must be named, and commitment levels must be noted at the time the bid is submitted. A complete description of the work and full information for Contract Bidders is given in the Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract documents may be obtained by prospective bidders at the Delaware River Port Authority’s Engineering Office located on the 7th floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101- 1949, on and after August 30, 2007. A check deposit of One-Hundred Dollars ($100.00), made payable to the Delaware River Port Authority, will be required for each set of Contract Documents. Deposits will be refunded to anyone submitting a bid (limit of $400.00 for four sets). Deposits will not, under any circumstances, be refunded to individuals or companies not submitting bids to the Delaware River Port Authority. Contract documents cannot be ordered nor delivered by mail. A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held starting at 1:00 p.m., local time on September 6, 2007 in the Engineering Conference Room located on the 7th Floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey. All bidders are encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Meeting. All Bidders shall be expected to completely and thoroughly examine all Contract Documents to become fully aware of the project scope and requirements prior to submitting a bid. The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents directly from the Authority. Contract Documents are not transferable to other parties for bidding purposes. Bids received from firms whose names are not recorded by the Authority as having secured documents for this Contract will be rejected. DELAWARE RIVER PORT AUTHORITY By: William C. Brooks, P.E.
