Contract No. BF-20-2007 - Benjamin Franklin Bridge Maintenance Building Fire Alarm Replacement

Sealed proposals for Contract Number BF-20-2007, Benjamin Franklin Maintenance Building Fire Alarm Replacement, will be received during normal business hours, at the office of the Director of Engineering/Chief Engineer in the headquarters building of the Delaware River Port Authority, One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey until 10:30 a.m., local time, April 30, 2007 and immediately taken to the Engineering Conference Room and publicly opened and read. The work to be completed under this Contract consists of the removal and replacement of the existing Fire Alarm system components, cabling and materials, the installation of new heat and smoke detectors, audible and visual alarm notification devices and shall include an intelligent annunciator, for the Benjamin Franklin Bridge Maintenance Building located in Camden, New Jersey. The Delaware River Port Authority is firmly committed to providing equal employment and business opportunities for all persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or non-job related disability. In that regard, the Delaware River Port Authority purchase agreement issued, contract or subcontract entered into pursuant to this project, qualified and certified minority business enterprises (MBEs) and women business enterprises (WBEs) will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids and will not be discriminated against on grounds of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or non-job disability in consideration for an award. A complete description of the work and full information for Contract Bidders is given in the Contract Documents. Copies of the Contract documents may be obtained by prospective bidders at the Delaware River Port Authority’s Engineering Office located on the 7th floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey 08101- 1949, on and after April 12, 2007. A check deposit of One-Hundred Dollars ($100.00), made payable to the Delaware River Port Authority, will be required for each set of Contract Documents. Deposits will be refunded to anyone submitting a bid (limit of $400.00 for four sets). Deposits will not, under any circumstances, be refunded to individuals or companies not submitting bids to the Delaware River Port Authority. Contract documents cannot be ordered nor delivered by mail. A Pre-Bid Meeting will be held starting at 10:00 a.m., local time on April 19, 2007 in the Engineering Conference Room located on the 7th Floor of One Port Center, 2 Riverside Drive, Camden, New Jersey. All bidders are encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Meeting. All Bidders shall be expected to completely and thoroughly examine all Contract Documents to become fully aware of the project scope and requirements prior to submitting a bid. The Authority will consider only those bids received from parties who have obtained Contract Documents directly from the Authority. Contract Documents are not transferable to other parties for bidding purposes. Bids received from firms whose names are not recorded by the Authority as having secured documents for this Contract will be rejected. DELAWARE RIVER PORT AUTHORITY By: William C. Brooks, P.E.
