Walt Whitman Bridge

What To Expect During Phase Two of Redecking Project:

  • The long term closure of eastbound lane 6 which is adjacent to the first lane to be redecked, lane 7, the far right eastbound curb lane
  • Reduced speed and lane closures
  • No eastbound “permit vehicles” allowed  
  • Lane 7 will be a “cattle shoot” lane into New Jersey 
  • During peak eastbound traffic periods drivers are advised to consider using either the Commodore Barry Bridge, Ben Franklin Bridge or PATCO.

Wednesday January 25 thru Friday January 27

  • Beginning at 9:30am until 2:30pm, lane 5, eastbound to NJ, will be closed.   Consequently, two lanes eastbound will be closed during this period.

Saturday January 28

  • Beginning at 7am until 3pm, lane 5, eastbound to NJ, will be closed. Consequently, two lanes eastbound will be closed during this period.

Monday January 30 thru Friday February 3

  • Between 930am and 230pm, an adjacent eastbound lane into New Jersey will also be closed.  Consequently, two easbound lanes will be closed during this time period.


Commodore Barry Bridge

Monday January 23  beginning at 9am until 3pm on  Friday January 27

  • The right eastbound lane into New Jersey will be closed for construction.

Monday January 30 beginning at 9am until 3pm on Friday February 3

  • The right hand westbound lane into Pennsylvania will be closed for construction


Benjamin Franklin Bridge

Monday January 23 thru Friday January 27

  • Beginning at 8pm and continuing until 4:30am the following day, two right westbound lanes into Philadelphia, lanes 1 & 2, will be closed.

Monday January 30

  • Beginning at 8 pm until 4:30 am on Tuesday January 31, the two right eastbound lanes 6 & 7  into NJ, will be closed.

Tuesday January 31 thru Friday February 3

  • Beginning at 8 pm until 4:30 am on Wednesday February 1, the two right westbound lanes 1 & 2 into PA, will be closed.

Wednesday February 1 & Thursday February 2

  • Beginning at 9:30 am until 2:30 pm, the two right westbound lanes 1 & 2 into PA, will be closed.

The south walkway is open to pedestrians and bicyclists.  The north walkway is closed.

Walkway hours are 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. daily for the Fall/Winter season.  The walkway is open weather permitting. 

For up to the minute information regarding the status of the walkway, we recommend that you contact 856/968-2255 Monday thru Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Before and after regular hours and on weekends, please contact Police Radio directly at 856/968-3301 or 215/218-3750 ext 3301.   



Betsy Ross Bridge

Monday January 23 through Friday February 3

  • There are no scheduled lanes closures

Work:

Please note that due to operational needs and changes, which include the weather, the announced lane closures may not take place every day. All times are approximate. Maintenance crews are working on both sides of the bridge, and operations may change from time to time.

Always obey speed restrictions when driving through work zones.

Please note that there may be times when an unexpected or unscheduled closure occurs.
